Would you like to explore Rosen Method Bodywork or attend Yoga classes?

Rosen Method Bodywork is hands-on touch by the Practitioner that connects physical tension with emotional holding. The subtle touch allows your body to go into a deep state of relaxation, letting go of tension that may have been there for years and helps to regulate the nervous system.

An original form of somatic work which addresses physical tension and through its unique form of sensitive touch and verbal communication helps people to become aware of what they are holding – physically and emotionally – in their body. When the body is allowed to reveal its truth in a space of non-judgement, it can relax and let go of stress and pain. Rosen Method helps individuals to soften the barriers in their life so that they can live more fully, and the natural feelings of “embodied being” can become a source of joy.

Rosen Method is still relatively unknown and you may wish to find out more. Please see the Rosen Method websites at the Rosen Institute and Rosen Method UK. Also please do not hesitate to contact me and I will happily send you more information without any pressure to book a session.

Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India and aims to control and still the mind, recognizing a detached witness-consciousness untouched by the mind.

Yogic practices include breathing techniques, postures, relaxation, chanting, and other meditation methods.

Hatha yoga is practiced at a slower pace, with focus on the breath, controlled movements, and stretching.

From September 2023 I will be teaching a gentle class suitable for all levels on Wednesday mornings at Bramcote Memorial Hall. Another class, on Wednesday evenings at St Leonards Community Centre in Wollaton, will include more options to challenge the body. Both classes will offer different levels of challenge so that you can make the practice your practice.

About image
My name is Karen Sands and I live in Nottingham. As I entered my fifties, following 10 months travelling the World with my husband, my career as a senior manager in social care and housing was beginning to feel 'just not me'.  After experiencing Rosen Method Bodywork, I began to make some changes to my life which has led me to setting up my business offering Rosen Method Sessions and Yoga Classes.

After receiving my first Rosen session in 2018 I was amazed by the insight and the transformation the session gave me. After many more sessions and the understanding of myself that I had never known before, I found I wanted to know more and so started to train as a Practitioner in the autumn of 2019. I reached the requirements for the Internship Programme in May 2023. This allows me to practise with the support and supervision of the Rosen Method UK School.

I have practised yoga, on and off, all of my life but only seriously in the last 10 years. I will complete my Yoga Alliance 200 Teacher qualification in July 2023 at Breathing Space Yoga Studio, Derby. Studying yoga philosophy and yoga humanities has enriched my life and deepened my practice and my understanding of myself.
